Who We Are
Ficus was born out of love and dedication to fig cultivation and the production of exceptional traditional products. Our name comes from the Latin term ficus carica, meaning "fig tree."
The history of our family’s fig cultivation dates back to the 19th century, when our great-grandfather was growing figs in the Aidin region of Asia Minor, as early as 1830. Deep knowledge and love for the fig tree have been passed down through generations, and after the Asia Minor Catastrophe, our ancestors settled in Northern Evia, bringing with them this precious tradition. From the 1930s until today, four generations later, we continue with the same respect for the land, the people, and the product.
